Oscars 2016: the "talk about" moments
When I first created this blog, I was crossing my heart not to talk about the awards season ever again since I figured people would rather listen to the opinion of a Vanity Fair columnist than a simple country girl's.
But I just couldn't help it!
When I watched the 88th annual Academy Awards, I was literally beaming with light and my fingers were dying to type all the things I had in my head. And at that point, I realize that whether or not people read it, I just felt like I need to write about it, because I guess it's one of the things that I am passionate about.
With no further a do, here are I think the highlight of the Oscars 2016
So the 88th annual Academy Awards were pretty much about the producers of the show trying to prove themselves that they are not racist at all. Kinda worked, but seemed a bit forced. Yikes. There were lots and I mean lots of jokes about the whole racism thing included in the show, and some were extremely funny. One of the funniest jokes were these videos of some of the most famous films like The Martian, Joy, The Revenant, that were edited with famous black actors and actresses. And for that it deserves an award for most hilarious jokes.
I think we all can agree that the Stacey Dash thing was probably the most awkward moment in the entire show. I mean, all of a sudden a girl dressing up like it's 1920 and saying that she's excited to be there? Jeez . . . I think you should google Chrissy Teigen's face, that'll explains it all.
Let's not forget Jacob Tremblay's expression when R2-D2, BB-8, and C-3PO from Star Wars appeared to the stage. Clearly it shall be recall as the most adorable moment the 88th Oscars has ever had.
When Joe Biden stepped on stage and all the audience gave him a standing ovation was definitely the most heart-warming moment that happened in the show. Especially when he told everyone to sit back down by saying that he was least qualified person in the show.
And please tell me why there was a man in a bear costume clapping his paws after watching a breath-taking footage of Revenant's nomination for best picture. To me, It was probably the most bizarre thing that the Oscars team had put up. Me and my friends were like, "Why is there a bear all of a sudden?!" You just don't put a bear joke after watching a man getting viciously attacked by a bear. I mean the audience were in the middle of digesting a beautiful clip here! Don't ruin it!
Don't we all agree that Mad Max: Fury Road had definitely won too much Oscars? Even though Mad Max deserves to win stuffs like costume design, production design, and visual effects. But come on, you've got to give other films a chance to win too. Therefore, let's all present an award to Mad Max: Fury Road for the most irritating movie to win pretty much every single category that are available in the Academy Awards.
And here it goes, I'm saving the best for the last.
Let's all take a big deep breath, close our eyes for a second, and then scream as loud as we can, because at last, Leonardo DiCaprio had won! And everyone from around world jumped and screamed and in awe when Julianne Moore announced Leo's win. And when I watched it with my friends, we observed that Leo was holding the trophy like it's his living soul, he didn't even flinch his grip to it. Wow. And he couldn't stop smiling! This was probably the most epic and iconic moment the Oscars has ever had. And thank God Leo actually won. If he didn't, I think the people in the Dolby Theater would've thrown their middle fingers to the Academy Awards and walked out.
So there it is, The "talk about" moments. I actually many more things to talk about the Oscars but I'm going to step right there and let you readers absorb a little first. Tell me what you think, and comment below.
